Please feel free to come and visit our parish and get to know the wonderful and faithful people of God here at Resurrection Lutheran Church. Many of us throughout our lives search for God and look for the meaning of our life here on earth. Here at RLC we will gather together and through worship, bible study, and prayer we will grow closer to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. All Are Welcome!
About Us:
Resurrection Lutheran Church is a congregation of the South Carolina Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Resurrection is part of a dual parish with St. Matthew’s Lutheran of Cameron, SC. Our parish has a rich 273 year history that dates us as one of the oldest Lutheran congregations in South Carolina.
Resurrection is known for our beautiful church buildings and landscape, for our involvement and contribution in the life of our town, for our participation in the larger Church through the SC Synod and the ELCA, and most importantly for the welcoming and loving people that make up this wonderful congregation.
The people of Resurrection love and worship God in many ways, and we serve our risen Lord through many types of ministry. Some of these ministries include: Evangelism, Stewardship, Education through Sunday School and bible studies, fellowship, and through Worship. Through these ministries we use the gifts and talents that God has given us to proclaim Christ as Lord and to give glory to God.
What We Believe:
Resurrection Lutheran Church is a Christian Church that confesses in one God and father that loves His creation and that longs to be in a loving relationship with His people. We believe in God’s only Son, Jesus Christ; who is King and Lord of all. We know and have faith in Christ coming to earth, dying for our sins, and rising again to live and sit at the right hand of God, and by having faith in Christ, we too will receive everlasting life with Christ our Lord. We believe in God, the Holy Spirit; that gathers us together as the body of Christ, and that sanctifies us and draws us back to God who has redeemed us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We believe that we are justified by God’s grace through Faith in Jesus Christ. That it is God’s actions in the waters of our Baptisms and through Holy Communion that claim us as children of God, that give us faith in Christ through the Holy Spirit living in us, that washes us of our sins, and that send us out to be the body of Christ for the world. Our lives are the living response to God loving us, saving us, and making us new creations in Christ Jesus.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired and living Word of God, and normative for our lives, lived to and for God. We also believe in and teach the Ten Commandments, the Nicene and Apostles Creeds, and the Lord’s Prayer, and that these teachings crucial for living out the Gospel of Christ in the world.
We hold true to all scripture taught to us through Jesus Christ, and that all scripture is valid, sacred, essential and applicable to our lives in the Church.
